Developer Interviews

Hail, traveler!

Have you always wanted to make videogames? Then maybe you should learn from the best!

Here I will collect the most quintessential passages from any interviews that the maniasoft dudes are kind enough to give! (At least any within a publication of record, e.g.: "Game Developer", "PC Gamer".) It's no easy task trying to comprehend the mind of a genius like KK... you might be shocked to see the world in the way they do! But as Friedrich Nietzsche once said: "When you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes into you..."

I hope you find these wise words to be enlightening!

Inside The Mind of Kevin Kevinson

I love reading interviews with KK! He's sort of a maverick if you will; an intellect, untethered from our dreary day-to-day reality. Here I've gathered some excerpts from 1994 thru 1995:

Dissenting Voices?

There's been a lot of DRAMA going around the IRC lately, what with the Bladderschelts' announced departure!

I know that around here we're used to thinking of maniasoft as The House That Kevin Built... but, videogame development is a team effort and BOATH would never have existed without Ray and Steve! I think as fans it's important for us to hear them out, and to remember that BOTH SIDES HAVE POINTS (BSHP).

Thus, without further adieu, I bring you an excerpt from August Namone's new weblog "August Is Tired":

EXCLUSIVE Interview!!

Holy shit you guys!!

I know things had been pretty quiet around here since BGOD's delay, but it looks like all that is about to change. This week we are thrilled to bring you an EXCLUSIVE interview with Kevin Ærie Kevinson himself, conducted by none other than your boy haQ (a.k.a. Wil Wallace)! Join us as we discuss maniasoft's new horror game, as well as the nature of 'genre' and of names!

KK's Last Words

I went looking around online to find any public information about Kevin from the past 20-odd years. I didn't find much, but there was an archived twitch vod from 2014 claiming to be his 'last public appearance' before he disappeared. I prepared a partial transcript.

Conversation with Karie

I spent two hours sitting here trying to figure out what I should write here, and I couldn't come up with anything. I don't even know what you're doing on this page, if there's anyone reading this at all, but... well, whatever! Read it if you want.
